WILD at Canele Ceases Service in Atwater Village This Week

The astoundingly popular pop-up is moving on.

The unbelievably successful WILD at Canele pop-up run has come to an end suddenly, with news last night dropping on Facebook first. The consistently stunning weekday lunch option from Ria and Matt Wilson, who have a prior history working Sqirl, began immediately garnering praise around town for its inventive casual takes and exceedingly of-the-moment fare.

Even the small stuff was getting sweated at WILD, from their house-cultured butter to seasonal salad ingredients, though Canele's highly regarded fried chicken sandwich remained a staple as well. Eventually even Besha Rodell at the Weekly came along to heap praise, dropping three stars on the upstart restaurant-within-a-restaurant.

For now there’s no telling what the Wilson duo will be up to, but as of the end of the week there’s going to be no more WILD for a while. Below is the note left by the team to their supporters, thanking them for all the love:

Our tenure at Canelé has come to an end. We want to express a heartfelt thank you for all the love and support you have shown us this past year. It has been a privilege to cook for you and we hope to be able to do so again in the near future.
