Over at Food Talk Central — the upstart food forum created out of the torched embers of what was formerly Chowhound — someone is making a strong case for recent ramen import Yumeya to earn consideration as the Westside’s best ramen. Except, well, there’s already Tsujita on the Westside.

No matter, says user J_L, who contends that the tsukemen served here is the best in all of Los Angeles. Calling the broth "not overtly greasy nor unctuous, yet still naturally rich" and praising the perfectly-realized noodles, J_L’s statement is maybe a bit hyperbolic, but with a place this new the jury is still out on final ramen comparisons. Shots fired though, regardless.

It’s an interesting hot take for L.A. regardless, especially considering there hasn’t really been someone around to take the reins from Tsujita in quite some time. Could this upstart noodle shop occupying the former Beard Papa location in Palms truly be the giant-killer? Soft opening hours run 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, until 7 p.m. on weekends.
