SF's Smitten Ice Cream Dives Into Silver Lake With Second Shop Next Year

New, 3 comments

Coming early next year.

Smitten Ice Cream first made a name for itself in the Bay Area, establishing a string of outlets under the guidance of owner Robyn Sue Fisher. In July it was announced that the team would be expanding southward with a new location at The Point in El Segundo, but now here comes a second one right on its heels, heading into the heart of Silver Lake no less.

Taking over a former car shop right on Sunset Boulevard not far from Knuckle & Claw, Alfred Coffee, Night + Market Song and, yes, Trois Familia — is this becoming Silver Lake’s new restaurant row? — the cutesy scoop shop likely won’t land its timeless vibes until early 2016. But when it does, expect Fisher’s signature line of made-to-order ice creams, which use organic ingredients and gets frozen via liquid nitrogen.

As you can see, the address at the moment still leads to Silverlake Motors, which has had a For Lease sign up for some time. It’s a small, glassy storefront set back from the road, which should make for a bright build-out once everything is set. And with all that open frontage between the door and the sidewalk, there might even be room for a few parking spaces.
