Here’s a sad story for the six year old in all of us: Studio City’s peanut butter and jelly sandwich eatery, called Spread PB, has closed. But cry too much: they say they're only transitioning into a new space somewhere else.

The make-it-yourself ‘sandwich bar’ debuted in January of this year, pricing their creations at $6.95 apiece. There were nearly a dozen creative base options to start with, including sandwiches made from cinnamon raisin bread, tortillas, and, ugh, celery sticks. Spread options included far-out stuff like green curry peanut butter, and with real WTF finishing toppings like … chicken? And pickles?

According to this Facebook post dated October 28, the shop is now officially closed but has plans to gain national representation and take their idea across the continent. As for a comeback somewhere else in Los Angeles, that's still unknown. However, new signage is already up in the window of their former Studio City digs, showing a quick turn into açai bowl spot Rio Zonas.
