Venice's The Rose finally reopened its doors almost a month ago now, serving only breakfast and lunch fare. The 36-year-old icon has now removed its training wheels and is gunning to be the next go-to all-day-eatery in Venice.
The newly launched HEARTH menu will be available at the bar and on the back patio Tuesday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. As the name would suggest, the majority of the items are cooked in the wood oven, and reflect the fun, casual vibe of the upcoming full-on dinner service, which is still on its way.
Like the current breakfast and lunch menus, there's a decidedly Italian influence that's filtered through a Southern California lens. The menu will change daily according to market selections, but dishes like Gioia burrata with Hachiya persimmon and black sesame halva, and rotisserie porchetta with peanut/poblano mole seem pretty reflective of the overall direction. Also on offer are Neroni's signature meatballs and fried chicken.
