Susina Bakery, which has been a long-standing Mid-City spot on Beverly Blvd just west of La Brea Avenue, is closing down on December 24 after a 13 year run. A call to the bakery this morning confirmed that owner Jenna Turner, who first opened the place with Anna Delorefice back in 2002 (Delorefice has since moved on), is selling the space to another operator who will re-open the bakery under a different name.

Instead, Turner is planning to use the funds to grow the wholesale side of the business, which means wholesale customers can continue to furnish pastries from the popular bakery. The new owner, whose name has not been confirmed, will re-open on Beverly Blvd some time in January after a quick changeover.

Susina has consistently been one of the best bakeries in the city.
