[Update: Reps for MessHall say the victim is expected to make a complete recovery.]
On Sunday, a valet attendant was shot in the stomach outside of Los Feliz's MessHall Kichen in an attempted robbery. According to The Eastsider, Sgt. Frank Gonzalez with the LAPD explained that the victim, a male in his 30s, was shot at 7:05 p.m. after refusing to hand over money requested by the shooter, also a male in his 30s.
A source also tells Eater that an ER doctor on the scene ran over to attend to the valet, who is currently in critical condition. The shooter drove off in a silver four-door vehicle, and remains at large.
A diner named Erin Quill was at the restaurant during the robber and tweeted after the incident:
Just had dinner at Mess Hall and someone shot the valet after trying to rob him, we all had to get under the tables...craziness

It is the second example of gun-related violence at or outside a restaurant this week, with four people shot outside of the Standard Hotel Downtown early Sunday morning.
Eater has reached out to Mess Hall for comment, and is awaiting a response.
