More best new restaurant love

Fresh off of yesterday's LA Mag best restaurant list comes this Thrillist round up. Though there isn't any ranking involved, many of the usual suspects are in place, along with some surprising inclusions like Clifton's Cafeteria and Pizzeria Romana on La Brea.

Kali is staffing up for its soon-to-come debut

First peeked at back in October, Kali Dining is now almost fully realized. Working the upper-middle price point but doing really refined food, the restaurant should be heartily welcomed when it lands on Melrose soon enough. In the meantime they're looking for qualified front and back of house folks, so if you'd like to get in now email info@kalirestaurant.com.

KevinEats goes all BYOB at Dune

Claiming not to have stepped foot in Atwater Village "since 2009", the K-man decides to hack through the jungle underbrush to discover Dune, the falafel hotspot that's been garnering plenty of attention as of late. He also brought along some beers, of course, and generally had a great time dining on the Middle Eastern food.

A blueish peek inside Maradentro Brentwood

The construction is ongoing, but here's a colorful window into what will soon become Maradentro Brentwood. It's a nice, classed up look for the former Rockenwagner Cafe space, which never quite knew what it wanted to be.

Yalla now open in Culver City

Casual fresh Mediterranean food has a new home in Culver City thanks to yesterday's arrival of Yalla. The Bay Area transplant first hit Burbank hard, but has larger plans to make a big dent in the healthy fast casual market down here.

Was Justin Bieber at 1OAK last night?

Yes. Isn't that fun? He was apparently there with some models and rapper Wiz Khalifa and ordered bottle service and did all of the things you would assume Justin Bieber would do. So, if you want to see him around town somewhere, either go to 1OAK and hope for the best, or build a time machine and go back to last night. Your call.
