Just in time for the weekend, here comes the LA Weekly list of best new restaurants. The compilation, which technically dropped yesterday, features a few well-known critical darlings, but also varies greatly from the LA Magazine grouping put out earlier in the week by anonymous critic Patric Kuh.
In her breakdown on this year’s best new list for the Weekly, critic Besha Rodell points out the obvious lean towards Mexican and Asian flavors, which combined make up more than half the total number of entrants. But that’s where the city is at, dining-wise, she contends, while adding that this has been in some ways "a banner year" for dining in L.A.
