It looks like trouble in Orange County for one of the area’s most celebrated restaurants. Little Sparrow in Santa Ana, which opened in 2013 and earned accolades along the way as one of Downtown Santa Ana’s brightest stars, is apparently for sale, at least according to the OC Register.

The paper says that ownership has declined to discuss the matter publicly, though a website for the sale — which lists an asking price of $399,000 — remains up and running from the BizBuySell team. The listing doesn’t name Little Sparrow in particular, but shows a photo of the restaurant interior and calls it one of the hottest restaurants in Orange County. Annual gross income of just north of $1 million, with a full liquor license already attached.

Little Sparrow remains open for business at the moment, though with this apparent listing that could certainly change. If it does eventually shutter the loss would mark a sad end for one of Santa Ana’s most popular recent restaurants, and come on the heels of some national recognition following a stint on the Bravo show Best New Restaurant, which also featured Union in Pasadena.
