Santa Barbara natives get excited; Backyard Bowls will expand its iconic bowl eatery to Los Angeles in a couple of weeks. The iconic healthy eatery specializes in açaí ("ah-sah-EE") bowls, real-food smoothies and serves real, unprocessed nutritious food. Backyard Bowls is set to open by soon-to-be neighbor Blue Bottle, nestled between the Grove and Beverly Center.
Backyard Bowls always uses local and sustainable products that are 100 percent organic. With so many bowls to choose from, options include: The Island Bowl with açaí, bananas, mango, pineapple juice and coconut milk. On top it's covered with banana, strawberry, blueberry, coconut shavings, granola & honey. The Backyard Bowl consists of extra açaí, banana, strawberry and hemp milk and some toppings include goji berry, bee pollen, granola and honey. Other options include smoothies and breakfast bowls like the PB&J Quinoa, which features quinoa, cashew milk, raisins, walnuts, strawberry, blueberry and agave. For more menu options and prices, check out the website here.
While similar to its other locations, the LA store will incorporate cool new twists to its menu and store design. In addition, the architecture and interiors come via Design, Bitches. The hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and will open an hour earlier, at 8 a.m. on weekends, expanding when spring arrives.
