Los Feliz is still holding its collective breath while waiting for the imminent arrival of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. The exceedingly popular Midwestern shop has been showcasing its wares via ice cream truck for weeks now, popping up at events as varied as store openings and flea markets, but locals are still waiting for the storefront to open soon.

The brick and mortar space on Hillhurst is still angling for a March debut, with interior construction heavily underway. As of now, only some track lighting looks to be fully installed, with the rest of the shop covered under layers of dust and construction equipment. Still, the soon-to-be Jeni’s is in a prime location for foot traffic, across from the Mustard Seed Cafe and adjacent to the alway busy Alcove.

It’s a shame the shop isn’t open already, what with the recent hot streak across the Southland. When Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream finally does come to fruition, expect daily hours beginning at noon and ending at 10 p.m. during the week, with a slightly later curtain call on weekends. For a look at the full upcoming menu, head this way.
