Is there no stopping the Public School franchise? After a downtown opening several years back by the Grill Concepts team, Public Schools have sprouted up in Culver City and Thousand Oaks, each with their own unique area code slapped on the end. Next up is Public School 818 (The Valley!).

PS818 is currently inbound towards Sherman Oaks, right at the intersection of Sepulveda and Ventura across from the popular Sherman Oaks Galleria. With an expected opening early next month, this gastropub outlet plans to bring twisted takes on popular dishes like tater tots and burgers, with a strong craft beer backbone. There will be 24 taps in all, while weekend brunch on the street-facing patio includes mimosas and more.

The space itself follows the expected classroom design, complete with chalkboards, some hard-backed chairs, and an emphasis on mathematics. Shuffle board, beer pong and dartboards add a bit of fun to the mix.

Look for Public School to debut on March 9, with daily hours that start at 11:30 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
