Move over Echo Park. Glendale is going to be cooler than you, one day. Poke N Roll, a new sushi bowl spot, hit Central Avenue just a few blocks from the Americana at Brand earlier this week with a soft opening.

The idea is pretty simple: take the build-your-own salad idea and add in some fresh sushi or poke to make it a Korean-style hwae dup bap. Add in sauces like spicy mayo or eel sauce, and you have something that's both refreshing, light, and quite tasty. So despite the poke name, this isn't quite the real-deal Hawaiian fish spot you might be looking for.

Still, prices are fairly reasonable, with bowls starting at under $10 bucks when loaded up with two types of fish, toppings, and more. Fish options include salmon, tuna, crab, escolar, unagi (eel), shrimp, scallop, salmon skin, and albaore. Open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 3 to 9 p.m.
