When Jason Roe of Island Monarch Coffee (IMC) decided to step up the dessert game at his Culver City organic coffee shop, he asked sisters Amanda and Emily Campbell to open up a bakery, Joy and Sweets, next door. Freshly opened, Joy and Sweets specializes in French macarons and cupcakes that are sure to pair nicely with IMC brews.
The Campbell sisters both have deep roots in the LA baking scene, with Emily Campbell coming from Corner Bakery and Amanda from Confection Co-op before partnering up to sell their goods at farmers markets throughout LA. While the sisters plan on expanding their menu, early Joy and Sweets favorites include white chocolate raspberry and salted caramel macarons and raspberry and red velvet cupcakes.
Joy and Sweets is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
