Now this is an unusual landing, especially in Los Feliz. Wayback Burger, a chain outlet with dozens and dozens of locations across the U.S. (and one in Argentina, apparently) has landed inside that gigantic mixed-use facility on the corner of Hollywood and Western.
Other than the inbound Wayback Burger, which appears to have landed at the beginning of the month, it’s a bit of a food wasteland at the looming plaza. There’s a Starbucks, a Jamba Juice, and a takeaway Chinese place, but a fast casual burger chain with a national presence? It’s all a bit unexpected.
For those that aren’t familiar with Wayback, think of it as a sort of cross between a Wendy’s and a Five Guys. There’s the sit-down-and-enjoy-yourself appeal that Five Guys offers, complete with handmade milkshakes and shareable plates of cheese fries, but with the overall options of a fast food spot.
Guests can dig into everything from fish sandwiches to hot dogs to a buffalo mac & cheese burger, which is exactly what it sounds like. And for the truly intrepid, Wayback will even do that thing where they let you just keep ordering beef patties for your burger — quad stackers, octo-stackers, they don’t care.
Wayback is currently open for business, with daily hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
