Der Wolfskopf, a Massive German Beer Hall Debuting Tonight in Pasadena

The German beer hall invasion starts in Pasadena.

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

German food and beer is starting to creep into Los Angeles, with the likes of Berlin Currywurst and Wurstkuche leading the way, but Der Wolfskopf is perhaps the most spacious beer hall to open this year.

Just steps from the heart of Old Town Pasadena (in the former 72 North space), Ryan Sweeney and company debut this massive drinking spot tonight with an array of beers, liquor, as well as drinking bites like sausages, fries, and tater tots . Downstairs, there's an exclusive clubby cocktail lounge that requires a special card to get in, which sounds a little bit precious for Pasadena.
