Greenleaf, An Expansive Chopped Salad Temple in Hollywood

Would you like a martini with your salad?

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

With its fifth shop, owner Jonathan Rollo is going for the touchdown with Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, which is slated to open the week of February 9 in Hollywood. With a huge dining room and patio touting robust hues and plenty of weathered wood, it's perhaps the most ambitious looking salad and sandwich shop to open in Los Angeles.

Adding to the design (from SF Jones) is a full bar program, which boasts beers, wines, and cocktails (which are even served tableside), which goes beyond the call of most healthy food establishments in town.

The outside dining area has an herb garden, fireplace, and seats for up to 60, meaning your next huge birthday bash can take a salutary turn, if it wants. To see the full list of bites and beverages, go here.
