The opening executive chef plans to spearhead a new project elsewhere.

The Valley's 2014 darling, Tipple & Brine, is losing its executive chef. The popular Ventura Blvd. restaurant opened in April with plenty of wood and lots of help from Casey Lane's former restaurant The Parish. That's where exec chef Mike Williams hailed from previously, but now he's stepping aside for an upcoming (and unnamed) project.

Williams had been aboard the Sherman Oaks eatery since day one, shaping the menu and bringing the whole place into focus as they slide towards their first year anniversary this spring. Sure there were brow-furrowing oyster luges, but Williams' opening menu did much to revitalize an area of the Valley that was looking for something exciting. Longtime sous chef Logan Jones now steps in to man the stoves, with hopes to continue the trajectory.

As for Williams' next move? Nothing is official yet, but don't expect him to wait long before unveiling the concept.
