Great Balls on Tires Finally Screeching Toward Downtown

Almost three years in the making, the food truck is rolling into Historic Core.

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Remember when the food truck revolution was still kicking and screaming in the earlier part of the decade? Well Great Balls on Tires, a meatball truck that was destined for Downtown's Historic Core in the New Genesis building on Main Street is finally gearing up for a debut, at least according to this recent filing with ABC. It ensures that GBoT will get to serve beer & wine along with their Ballywood garam masala meatball served over basmati rice.

Located right next to the newish Regent Theater and its accompanying pizza shop, Prufrock, it'll be yet another addition to this ever-crowded block, which will also soon feature Tione's on Main from Christian Page.
