If Barnyard Venice is Looking For A New Chef, Where's Jesse Barber?

The continuing troubles of a popular local spot in Venice.

Barnyard Venice
Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

Is Venice’s Barnyard in for another wild ride? After missing its opening date back in 2012, then losing Jeremy Fox as the executive chef, things seemed to be calming down. Jesse Barber of Tasting Kitchen nestled in nicely to the head chef position, and was well.

Until this Craigslist post, wherein Barnyard Venice is looking for a new executive chef. The ad says they’re “looking for a new lead in the back of the house, and a new leader in creativity.” So what’s to become of Jesse Barber? No word from his camp (or Barnyard’s for that matter), but it’ll be interesting to see where this all lands.

Want the job yourself? Might as well apply.
