Today’s the day, Highland Park. Your Most Depressing Starbucks is set to reopen and be, hopefully, a little less woeful.

That’s, at least, according to The Eastsider, which is hopeful for a more cheery Starbucks after the original concept got absolutely flattened by some architects and basically everyone else. They even managed to snag a pic of the remodel (still behind chain link fence at the time) which shows a decidedly nicer redo, complete with lots of open air access and that dark reclaimed wood look that the ‘bucks goes crazy for. Curbed has all that an a few more images right this way.

As ABC 7 Eyewitness News breathlessly reports, the place is open and running now. So far, no reports of people being saddened to death.
