Well here’s (officially) the location of at least one of Michael Voltaggio’s multiple new restaurant concepts: Sunset Boulevard.
As previously surmised, the Gorge space in West Hollywood was falling under the Top Chef’s control. Not that Elia Aboumrad (a Top Chef contestant as well) was going away — her restaurant Gorge simply relocated downtown.
Well, reps for Voltaggio have now confirmed that Gorge will, in fact, become something by way of the ink. chef. There just isn’t any info on what, exactly.
That’s OK for now, because what is for certain is that designer Thomas Schoos is involved, which means a beautiful restaurant space, whatever it happens to become.
Since Voltaggio is still on the PR prowl in service of his new show Breaking Borders, it’s safe to cut him some slack on not having a fully realized concept for the new place yet. But don’t expect it to take forever, either; rent ain’t cheap in that part of town.
