It looks like McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream is doubling down on their recent L.A. expansion. What initially began as a Grand Central Market stall is now blossoming into a second location in Studio City. And not a moment too soon, given the oncoming summer of triple-digit Valley temperatures.
The Santa Barbara team behind the 65 year old brand didn’t come to mess around, either. They’re positioned themselves on Ventura Place, right next door to another popular sweets shop option: Joan’s on Third. The 1,100 square foot pace was formerly a tailor, but will quickly be swapping into a pristine new ice cream shop.
McConnell’s is joining crowded company in the city, with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams already angling for its Los Feliz takeover this coming Friday. Others like Salt & Straw have already set up dedicated storefronts across town.
Don’t think that will slow down McConnell’s, though. The brand is stronger than ever, and further locations in and around Los Angeles are more than likely. Until then, feel free to hold your breath for the latest Valley star: it won’t be long until they’re up and running.
