Nong Lá La Brea

Though first hinted at back in August, the eventual La Brea location of popular Sawtelle Vietnamese spot Nong Lá was still a long time coming. The casual spot just south of Beverly appears to have been worth the wait, however, thanks to a full overhaul from the Design, Bitches team.

Technically the space is still in the final throes of opening, having hosted friends and family meals for much of this week. At least two early Yelp reviews have already gone up, with one showing the tight patio space and colorful details imbued into the space. Inside, sleek wooden furniture is touched off with light blue accents, and an opening ceiling gives a sense of height to the long room. With a small bar off to one side, Nong Lá looks to serve well into the night.

The popular Sawtelle menu remains largely intact at the new La Brea outpost, along with the addition of a few signature items like bun rieu, a tomato-based soup laced with crab and shrimp.

Look for Nong Lá on La Brea in Mid-City to open officially on Tuesday, March 24, serving lunch and dinner.
