There's more fast casual Asian fusion coming to Hollywood. The latest is YakiPan, a family-owned restaurant concept magically appearing in the ticket booth of the old Vine Theatre. The do-it-yourself fusion model is nothing new, with fellow trailblazers like Asian Box and the nearby ShopHouse Kitchen also in the mix.
Hopefully, the simplicity of the process helps to draw in the weekday crowds looking for something quick. Vegetable options from cabbage to bell peppers to carrots are mixed in with freshly grilled meats like beef, chicken, shrimp, and even tofu, followed by a helping of rice or noodles. Check off your desired heat level, and the chef will whip up a personalized bowl in three to five minutes.
YakiPan is currently soft open, with a grand opening coming soon. Daily hours for the small space adjacent to the Hollywood and Vine Metro station run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
