Dine and Dash Team Runs Over Waitress During Attempted Getaway in Anaheim

Be careful who you chase after.

You just can’t trust cars in Orange County, apparently. They’re either getting stolen from the valet stand, or, according to ABC News, they’re running over waitresses who try to stop a few dine-and-dashers.

28-year old Anaheim waitress Maria Uriostegui was hospitalized over the weekend when four people allegedly used their Volkswagen to run her over after she confronted them in the parking lot about failing to pay their bill. The Magnolia Avenue restaurant, Mexico Lindo Que Rico, claims that the fearsome foursome simply walked out without so much as glancing at the check, which drew Uriostequi into the parking lot to attempt to extract payment. In a chilling retelling, the waitress claims that the four-pack simply laughed at her and then gunned the engine, leaving no time to scramble out of the way.

Within hours, the car had been spotted at a nearby motel, and all four (ranging in age from 24 to 18) had been booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. They’re currently being held on $25,000 bail, while Uriostequi, a mother of two, is said to be making a complete recovery.
