Abbot Kinney's Casa Linda Warns Customers of Impending 60 Day Shutdown

New, 1 comment

The reasonably priced Mexican food spot is hoping for digs further up the street.

Casa Linda Mexican Grill

Look out Abbot Kinney: there are a few more changes coming thataway. Six year old Casa Linda Mexican Grill, held on the corner of California and Abbot Kinney in a glassy brick building, is parting ways with the intersection in favor of new digs elsewhere, though ideally still on Abbot Kinney.

The restaurant dropped the announcement today, saying that while the neighborhood has really responded to the casual vibe and reasonable price point Casa Linda attaches to its straightforward Mexican fare, the time had come to look for a bigger and better home. Ownership assures that Casa Linda is at least staying in the Venice area and won’t lose its laid-back feel, but rather hopes to offer an even more comfortable dining experience for its regulars. Better still, there’s talk of adding full table service, which didn't really exist at the current location.

Casa Linda won’t definitively spill the beans on their official new address or if the move has anything to do with the astronomical rents in the area. Right now, their focus is on that two month deadline, which means they'll be vacating the property some time around May. Grab a bite there while you can — it’s one of the last few relatively inexpensive dining experiences left on Abbot Kinney.
