In addition to his ongoing Antibellum pop-up series, chef Samuel Monsour is staying busy by making fried chicken. The Southern-inspired chef is already known for his yard bird, and will be teaming up with Chuck Taylor for a branded one-day pop up at Komodo in Venice on April 17.
It’s yet another iteration of the Chuck Taylor’s Fried Chicken All Stars sessions, which will see Komodo chef Erwin Tjahyadi matching his happy hour Nashville hot chicken with Monsour’s own buttermilk bird, which comes laced with Carolina mustard sauce.
For $20, pop-up guests earn half a chicken along with sides of miso-bacon corn, cole slaw and an insane amount of macaroni and cheese. Soju drinks are available on site as well. As for the shoes connection, a local artist will be on hand painting pairs of the canvas sneakers and offering up for sale.
Want to get in on the fried chicken face-off? There are four seatings between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., with tickets purchased in advance.
