More Pasadena news, as the sister city to the northeast prepares for an incoming Paul Martin’s American Grill. The slightly upmarket suburban wine and dinner destination is the work of Brian Bennett and Paul Fleming (the latter of namesake Fleming’s steakhouse and P.F. Chang’s fame).

Though technically a Northern California chain (the original Paul Martin’s is in Roseville), the casual dinner spot already has outlets in El Segundo, Rancho Cucamonga and Westlake Village, among others. The latest, on South Lake Avenue, plans to slide into an old shoe store at The Shops on Lake Avenue, a mostly open air mall that already hosts fast casual spots like Corner Bakery.

The on-site ABC license for the location has been active since August, though there’s apparently still much to be done to bring the Coffee Bean-adjacent space up to speed.  The likely plan is for an early summer debut, as construction is still underway.
