Jimmy Martinez Adds Pour Vida Latin Flavor to OC's Bustling Dining Scene

The 41 Ocean Club chef goes all in for tacos and beer south of the Orange Curtain.

Look out L.A. — Orange County is coming up. First there was the OC Mix Mart, then the Anaheim Packing District (and nearby inbound Golden Road brewery outpost). More recently, Santa Ana landed a gigantic food emporium called 4th Street Market, which hosts everything from fusion food-trucks-turned-restaurants to craft cocktails to an on-site butcher. Now chef Jimmy Martinez is getting in on the action, bringing Pour Vida Latin Flavor to Anaheim’s Center Street Promenade sometime very soon.

Martinez is the former chef at BOA Steakhouse who more recently has serving as executive chef at 41 Ocean Club in Santa Monica. Until now though, he’s always been an employee. With the upcoming Pour Vida, Martinez will control his very own restaurant, focusing on Latin flavors alongside a wide swath of cocktails, beer, sangria and fresh-pressed juices.

The casual concept is taco focused, with land, sea, and garden designations for the various options. Salads are a staple here as well, with a few sides to round things out on the menu. Otherwise, it's all about the drinks, which makes sense given the increasingly walkable area. Everything will be made in house, including (apparently) some of the furniture.

Look for Pour Vida Latin Flavor to land in Anaheim in either late March or early April, though food photos are already showing up on their Instagram account.
