Located in a strip mall, it'll be a fine place for a shot, beer, and Pac-Man.

Design, Bitches is starting to get into the game themselves, after doing interiors for everyone from Superba Food + Bread to Coolhaus. But instead of a restaurant, they're throwing back with a barcade arcade bar in Echo Park called Button Mash on the corner of Sunset and Douglas, reports The Eastsider.

Owners Rebecca Rudolph and Catherine Johnson, who head the design firm, told the LA Times that it'll be a clear 80s throwback, with some film noir stuff going on inside as well. Early response in the comments at The Eastsider seem pretty promising, especially for a stretch of Sunset that could use a little more life.

Plus, the strip mall location will be a nice change of pace from the mostly drab businesses that tend to populate them along this part of Echo Park. And just a stone's throw from Dodgers Stadium, it'll be the perfect place to land after the ballgame ends.

The place is slated to open by summer.
