Jian bing, a sort of Chinese street food made of an egg-coated thin pancake wrapped with sauce, lettuce, and herbs, has yet to make a big splash onto the culinary scene in LA. Buddha Bing, a food truck specializing in the popular northern Chinese snack, intends to fill this void.
Co-founded by Weichao Kong, Buddha Bing will launch its truck at the Eagle Rock Odd Market on Monday, April 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Along with the original jian bing, Buddha Bing will offer variations like the Greenthumb, named after the Cypress Hill hit with kale, avocado, cucumber, and smoked kimchi, and the Swing Song, with pork sung, seaweed, and sesame.
