Vegan DJ Moby Plotting Trendy Restaurant in Silver Lake

The Rowena Avenue eatery will be across from Ivanhoe elementary school.

Moby has always been one of the most well-known vegans in the music world, so it comes as no surprise that the DJ is an investor in a new vegan restaurant opening in a classic Art Deco-style building in Silver Lake along Rowena Avenue. Currently in construction, it's slated to debut by July.

The space previously held a concept called Silver Take that never opened because of permit delays. The owners eventually put the building on the market for $1.5 million.

A tipster writes in to say that while they plan to use the adjacent lot of outdoor events, there isn't much else known about the concept or even name of the restaurant, which is located across the street from Ivanhoe Elementary.

The relatively sleepy neighborhood currently only hosts The Edendale (which is housed in an old firehouse), Blair's (which seems to be humming along ever so quietly), and Broome St. General Store, so Moby's vegan creation should be a welcome addition to the area.
