From one, there have sprung many. Just one day after news broke that 800 Degrees was taking its expansion plans across the globe, co-founder Anthony Carron’s other project Top Round Roast Beef is slated to grow exponentially up north.

The fast casual, high quality roast beef sandwich shop founded by Carron, Steven Fretz, Noah Ellis, and Jamie Tiampo have inked a deal to franchise operations out of San Jose. The first is targeted to hit by the end of 2015, with others soon to follow.

One important note: this franchise agreement is non-exclusive, which means the Top Round team has the ability to rapidly deploy other franchises in any other city they see fit. That seems more and more likely given this initial deal, as the smallish shop is able to trade on nostalgia, quality meat, and simplicity to scale into cities like Chicago and even New York.
