Looks like the wait is over to find out what exactly was going into the emptied-out Little Hong Kong space. The longtime operator in Sawtelle Japantown couldn’t hold on any longer, and shuttered just shy of the end of the year.
In its place comes Kitchen Story, a Korean spot offering everything from bulgogi bibimbap to kimchi fried rice. Ramen, teriyaki bowls, and fried chicken occupy much of the rest of the menu.
Decor is simple and clean, with sleek chairs, lots of wood, and brushed flooring. The clear chairs are an interesting touch, as is the vertical faux grass wall along one side.
Kitchen Story is open now, with daily hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
