The new seafood-focused tenant lands across from Belcampo.

Look out, Grand Central Market diners — there’s a new tostada in town. Despite all the recent press that big name chefs have been getting for their inventive concepts going into the downtown food hall, it seems that the simple La Tostaderia has slipped in almost entirely under the radar.

A reader first noticed the shiny new tenant over the weekend, which sits directly across from Belcampo Meat Co. The no-frills environment is little more than a black run of counter and a handful of seats, with chalkboard menus denoting the day’s specials. Dishes lean decidedly towards seafood, with everything from fish tacos to ceviches on offer. Aguachile is also available, as are the stall’s namesake tostadas.

It’s always nice to see a bit of the classic touch return to Grand Central Market, which for years was dominated by Mexican and Latin American stalls. Even the longtime Tacos Tumbras a Tomas has been experiencing a resurgence, expanding into an adjacent stall recently.
