The Larchmont Launches Brunch, The Rockefeller Celebrates Cinco de May Early

And the five best things to eat at Coachella.

LARCHMONT— The Larchmont is getting in on the brunch scene starting May 2 with dishes that come by way of newly appointed Executive Chef Kevin Kathman. Utilizing vegetables from co-owner Spoon Singh's Ojai farm, Kathman will cook up deviled eggs with smoked whitefish; sprouted faro with Vietnamese spices and eggs; and The Stoner with peanut butter crunch French toast, maple bacon, and a foie gras supplement. Brunch will be available Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MANHATTAN BEACH— South Bay gastropub The Rockefeller is celebrating Cinco de Mayo early this year, with $4 beer and wine specials on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 from 9:30 p.m. to close.

COACHELLA— Coachella seriously stepped up its food game this year, with major LA chefs coming out to show off their chops. Zach Brooks was on the ground and lists the 5 best things he ate at Coachella as guide for weekend two attendees. On it, the Mazeman Noodles from Ramen Champ, Katsu Dog from Kushiyaki Dog, and Indie Jams' Pop Tarts.
