Bulletproof Coffee Butters Up to Santa Monica With New Storefront

The Main Street location opens soon.

Bulletproof Coffee has finally made its way to the sunny shores of Los Angeles, well after the media furor over their buttery coffee has died and gone to heaven.

For those who have trouble remembering each and every nuance of the never-ending outrage machine known as the internet, a primer: Bulletproof Coffee is the brainchild of self-styled ‘biohacker’ Dave Asprey, and claims that, essentially, adding butter to your morning cup of joe is a folksy remedy that Uncle Jesse tries to impart on the Duke boys in a particularly bad episode of The Dukes of Hazzard an awesome way to kick start your way into a strong, energy-rich day.

Back in January, word dropped from the heavens that the Bulletproof team would be landing in Santa Monica in short order, and that spooky premonition now appears to be coming true. The Main Street location is doing a big VIP-only kick-off party next Tuesday, and, as the runes have foretold, even James Van Der Beek is supposed to show up (seriously). That's how you know the coffee's good.

Post-party, the Bulletproof team plans to open with regular hours (no word on those yet), though they won't be serving breakfast pastries or anything, because their signature coffee with butter in it is meant to be a meal replacement. So just know that if you want to experience a cup of enriched morning coffee without Van Der Beek breathing down your neck, you won't have to wait much longer.
