Matthew Kenney’s MAKE OUT has landed in Culver City. The anticipated takeaway restaurant opening comes on the heels of a few Kenney missteps recently, including the March shutter of his highly regarded M.A.K.E.
The cozy-looking space features the usual assortment of painted brick and low-slung seating, with tall windows and an open ceiling. If you’re planning on stopping by, expect a lot of white-on-white color schemes, with fresh-pressed juices and Kenney’s own cookbooks standing in for color.
The menu at MAKE OUT is relatively concise, mostly consisting of smoothies and juices, with occasional options like baba ganoush with za’atar crackers, flatbreads, and pastries thrown in for good measure. Beware, though: despite the conscientious plant-based menu, at least one Yelper seems peeved that most everything is served with takeaway plasticware only.
MAKE OUT is now open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
