Howlin' Ray's Brings Nashville Hot Chicken Pop-Up to Barrel & Ashes May 4

The forthcoming food truck by Johnny Zone pops up for one night.

Prepare for a summer full of Nashville hot chicken. After popping up on a few menus around town over the years (most notably Hart + The Hunter), the fiery brined bird is now landing inside of a chef-backed gourmet food truck called Howlin’ Ray’s. But first, the truck team is popping up inside of Barrel and Ashes in Studio City in early May.

Barrel and Ashes chef de cuisine Mike Kahikina will be hosting the evening event on Monday, May 4, in conjunction with chef Johnny Zone from the forthcoming Howlin’ Ray’s truck. The two both previously worked at Bouchon together, and will be teaming up together for the one night party that features the Nashville hot chicken alongside the regular Barrel and Ashes menu.

Rather than prepaying for tickets, all you have to do is make a reservation (remember, space is always limited inside of Barrel and Ashes). The hot chicken will be available on the otherwise regular menu for that night only, at $12 a pop, and served with white bread, pickles, and a side.

Guests can make reservations over on OpenTable or by calling the restaurant directly.
