Caffe Luxxe Hosts Sweet Rose Creamery Pop-Up, Brent's Deli Community Appreciation Day

SANTA MONICA— This Saturday, May 2, the Montana Ave branch of Caffe Luxxe is hosting a Sweet Rose Creamery pop-up from 2 to 6 p.m. The European-inspired coffee house with serve complimentary espresso with each scoop of ice cream to make DIY affogatos.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE— Pastrami Rueben maven Brent's Deli will throw a community appreciation day on Wednesday, May 20 all day long. Both locations of the deli (Westlake Village, Northridge) will share 20 percent of the day's sales with nominated charities. Charity nominations are accepted at community@brentsdeli.com or facebook.com/brentsdeli until Monday, May 4.

SAWTELLE— Neighborhood gastropub Freddy Smalls is opening for brunch beginning this Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Highlights from chef Evan Colter's menu include eggplant and avocado toast, eggs in purgatory with spicy San Marzano tomatoes and pepperonata, and chicken parmesan sandwich. Brunch cocktails include the café macchiato with bourbon, Galliano ristretto, and coffee-infused Cynar; and the Italian stallion with vodka, hickory smoke, horseradish, and togarashi salt.
