Looking to consume copious amounts of artisanal wines in comfortable surrounds? Wilde Wine Bar and Restaurant intends to be that place, with the aim of recreating the ambiance of a dinner party at a friend's home.

The project of former Playboy CMO Lorna Donohoe and husband Nader Naderi, both born and raised throughout Europe, Wilde is inspired by the brasseries and wine boîtes of their youth. The couple stripped the old 3Twenty Wine Lounge of its wine machines and added an extensive, personalized wine list that is meant to respect each bottle's terroir. This means patrons in the mood for fish will be recommended a wine that comes from a small fishing town, paying homage to the wine's roots.

Of course, such a thoughtful selection of artisanal wines mandates wine-friendly dishes. Naderi, who cut his teeth cooking in kitchens throughout Europe, opened early ‘90s restaurants Ragbar and Replay Café in Los Angeles. His straightforward dishes at Wilde let the ingredients shine, never using more than a few items. Menu highlights include swordfish involtini, cast iron chicken, and steak frites.

Wilde opened April 6, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
