After a short stint at the old Red Medicine, the pop-up is going Chinese.

Coin de Rue didn't seem to pick up too much steam when it was in Beverly Hills in the former Red Medicine. Here's to hoping that Chinatown will give it the necessary shot in the arm. David Feau's pop-up, which takes on the new name Coin de Rue 13éme, after the 13th arrondissement in Paris (a predominantly Chinese neighborhood), will take over Michael J.'s Pizzeria in Chinatown for three weekends starting April 16.

The prix-fixe menu of $49 (plus more for supplements) will meld the flavors of the East with France, such as a raw shaved carrot salad, soft scrambled eggs, cabbage uni in crab bisque, and seared foie gras with lacquered duck sauce. Garrett McKechnie of 1886 will prepare cocktails from $12-15 to pair with the menu.

Dates will run April 16 to 18, 23 to 25, and April 30 to May 1. The bar menu, which will feature some more affordable bites, will only run 5 to 7 p.m. on nights of the pop-up while the dining room will be seated from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling 213-604-3421.
