Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Do you ever aspire to open your own boba or tea shop? Well Boba Bear has a swell gig for you this summer that'll teach everything from writing a business plan, scouting for locations, and handling lease negotiations.

You'll also pick up budgeting, marketing, and permitting, all very helpful aspects of opening a food business. In all, a pretty sweet opportunity, except for the fact that you'll be paid zero dollars for your time, which means only students enrolled in a 2 or 4 year program be allowed to do the internship (college credit is the only compensation).

According to the fine print, the value and knowledge gained from this internship will be far beyond a minimum wage job. The offer doesn't say anything about the number of hours you'll need to put in, though with only six positions granted, the competition will be fierce. Boba Bear currently has four locations in the LA area, plus another outlet in Hong Kong. Hit info@bobabear.com to apply for the internship.
