SILVER LAKE — Silver Lake gem Cliff's Edge is tacking on a new wine program to its one dollar oyster special on Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. New wine director Roni Ginach will offer three adventurous wines typically sold only by the bottle by the glass to pair with the restaurant's oysters. Tonight, catch glasses of Picpoul de Pinet, a Langueduc wine that's been aged in oak barrels submerged under the sea in an oyster park. Talk about sweet pairings.
KOREATOWN— Seattle-based pop-up Food and Sh*t is bringing its homestyle Filipino fare to POT Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24. Expect kinilaw na pusit (grilled squid), bagoong fried rice, sinigang broth (marinated ribeye, noodles, tamarind), ube cheesecake, and DJs spinning throughout the night.
AROUND TOWN— With early June gloom bringing rain and unseasonably chilly weather, there's nothing like a good bowl of rice porridge to warm up your insides. Clarissa Wei runs down the best places to get the hearty staple including Delicious Food Corner in Monterey Park and Bon Juk in Koreatown.
