Hey West Hollywood, your week is about to get a whole lot better, because Guisados is here. The uber-popular local taco makers have had a new location on Santa Monica Blvd. in the heart of WeHo in the works for a while now, but as of a few minutes ago word is out that the doors to the shop will be opening tonight at 6 p.m. sharp. Expect a line.
Why the fuss? Well for one, tacos this good tend not to exist in this part of town. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Guisados’ fresh made tortillas alone will be an upgrade for the area, and their particular brand of stews and braises will give locals much more to enjoy beyond the usual flat top carne asada and weak chorizos that currently dot much of the Mexican landscape nearby.
And the second best reason to get excited? Beer and wine. An active ABC license and (mostly) finished interior means Guisados WeHo is ready to roll, which is why they’ve already put out the patio furniture and plan to unlock the doors tonight at 6 p.m. West Hollywood hasn’t had much in the way of truly top-notch casual Mexican food for a while now (if ever, really), so this particular opening is pretty exciting. Not Shake Shack-level exciting, but still.
