First, East Coast chain Dunkin Donuts and now the classic burger chain Fuddruckers has opened its doors in Santa Monica. When you walk in the door, you're transported to a retro 50s diner atmosphere ready for the juicy burgers and tasty milkshakes we all remember from childhood. Sure, there are still some remnants of the old Fuddruckers of the 80s lingering in places like Sherman Oaks and Burbank, but this is the first new outlet to open in years in the LA area.
The fast-casual restaurant takes over 3,366 square feet and can hold 82 people on the busy corner of 20th and Wilshire. Although the space is big for Santa Monica, the number of arcade games are a bit slim.
First choose between quarter and half pound patties and bite into a crisp and warm bun that is baked from scratch on-site throughout the day. Guzzle it all down with an old-school milkshake.
In case you're feeling adventurous, there are other protein options like buffalo, elk and wild boar, as well as chicken and a veggie option. Dress your burger the way you like it with the long condiment bar (including a nacho cheese pump option). However, for all the healthy Santa Monica locals, have the burger protein style or with a gluten-free bun.
Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
