The ever-improving Hollywood is earning yet another star location for the growing creative class in the area to hang out in all day. Called Wanderlust, the large Highland Ave. space will take up around 10,000 square feet and include everything from a cafe to yoga studios, DIY workshop spaces and a retail component, as well as a members-only drink spot.
Think of this place as Hollywood’s very own version of The Springs in the Arts District downtown. Racked has many more important details for the healthy and fashionable crowd, including the various levels of possible pricing for those sure-to-be-sought-after memberships. The on-site Wanderlust Cafe, by contrast, will be open to everyone.
Plans call for an all-day vibe serving three square (and healthy) meals, with a wide variety of gluten-free and vegan options available. There’s the usual assortment of espresso drinks as well, of course, plus a takeaway component that includes artisanal goods. And with 10,000 square feet to play around with, there’s definitely going to be a patio. PR verbiage calls it "lushly landscaped" but with the drought and all, lots of leafy foliage might not come off as very forward-thinking.
Beyond the cafe, the Wanderlust complex will also hold a private membership speakeasy called The Library (ugh, enough with the connotations between smoky drinks and dusty leather-bound books please). Pay your way in and you’ll be able to drink, relax, and take in the sights from the elevated third floor rooftop deck.
Apparently, there’s even going to be parking, once the place comes to life (which should be soon). Wanderlust, for those not in the know, is the massive "yoga lifestyle" brand that has been throwing events and making money for a while now, so they’ve got the backing to make something awesome happen here; it’s just a matter of how quickly. Ownership, for its part, is tagging a summer unveiling.
