Look out, Little Jewel; one of Los Angeles’ most renowned po’ boy makers just landed in  Downtown. The simple New Orleans-inspired Orleans & York deli is already an Inglewood classic (and one of the city’s favorite Southern restaurants), so it’s a welcome surprise to see them drop another location on Spring Street, right by Pershing Square.

The soft open unveiling happened yesterday inside of the short-lived Brick Gourmet eatery at the Broadway Spring Center. And, as you might imagine with a restaurant as locally popular as Orleans & York, there was already a line out the door.

That’s not hard to do, given the space. A marble countertop lets customers order up, while rows of Zapp’s Chips stand alongside for easy grabbing. There is some tall counter seating along the glass and a few outside tables, but with delivery already in the works it’s a safe bet at most of the meals here will be carry-out anyway.

The menu appears to be much the same as their other Inglewood options, which means shrimp, oyster, and catfish po’ boys, plus cheesesteak sandwiches, andouille sausages, muffulettas, and more.

Official opening hours are in flux as Orleans & York continue to softly open, but it’s safe to say they’re open for the weekday office lunch crowds at least.
